On the Road With Lewis and Clark

It has begun!

Ford Flex | On the Road with Lewis and Clark

Our road trip adventure began with the following conversation:

MacGuyver, the designated trip videographer:  Here mom, can you hold this up in the windshield?

Me: What is that?

MacGyver: The Gorilla pod with my video camera on it. I want to take time lapse photography while we drive. But you have to hold it really steady and make sure that there are no bugs or window tinting showing up in the picture.

Me: You are kidding, right?

MacGyver: But it will be really cool to have a time lapse of us driving…

Bret: This is the freeway we drive four times a day to get anywhere we want to go. It’s a construction zone. This is NOT time lapse worthy!

We pulled out this morning about an hour later than expected. Bret was in charge of the alarm clock last night and didn’t realize how many last minute tasks there would be! Thank goodness for house sitters! I was a lot less worried knowing my parents would be arriving in a few hours to double check lights and faucets!

Adventure music (The Lion Sleeps Tonight, sung in parts) has been played, cowboy music (Riders in the Sky) has been sung and we’ve moved on to CW McCall. The Ford Flex has excellent bass I might add! A beautifully sunny day and fantastic day to start an road trip adventure.

Have a great trip, Shroyers! Remember when we were bouldering along that coast in Port Stephens, Australia, and we all looked at each other and thought, if we die, no one will know we’re here?! Stupid Americans! Here’s to an excellent adventure for your family…but please, if you die, make it someplace where we can find you!
