Summary:
We’re in the last days of a month-long contest, and need just a few more votes to stay in the race.
We’re putting up prize money for people that help us out. Just a couple clicks can earn you $25.00, to be awarded at Midnight TODAY Thursday 23 Feb 2012.
Rules:
- Go to the contest site http://longlivedreams.com
- Register to vote. You’ll have to give American Family Insurance an email address. Don’t worry, they don’t spam anything
- Give a phony password. I recommend “votepoodle” – it’s only used for this contest
- Check your email and click on the confirmation link – you’re now registered!
- Go back to the contest site http://longlivedreams.com
- Vote for the Poodle! (click on the picture, or type “bret” in the search box)
- IMPORTANT!!! To be entered in the contest, TWEET YOUR VOTE NUMBER (1608 in the picture) to @VinnieWinge #VotePoodle
- for example, your tweet will look like “1608 @VinnieWinge #VotePoodle”
- Don’t put anything else in the tweet
- Your tweets will be collected. Each tweet is one entry in the drawing
The fine print:
- Don’t even try to cheat, the system matches up your vote number with actual votes on the site.
- You can enter as many times as you wish – get your friends and family or alternate personalities to vote, multiple entries are allowed for a singe twitter ID
- Winner will be selected randomly from all valid tweets at 11:59pm EST 23 Feb 2012 using random.org sequence service (see below)
- Winner will be contacted via twitter DM immediately after selected
- Winner ID will be announced to #VotePoodle after DM is sent
- Winner will be awarded $25 prize, to be paid via PayPal or Amazon gift certificate – winner’s choice
http://random.org will be used to select the winner. A sequence will be generated at midnight that looks like the table below. The sequence is random, with minimum=1000, maximum = 1100, and seed value=1100. For the actual drawing, the minimum will be 1630 (the current value) and the max and seed will be set to the ending vote count. If there is no tweet for the winning number, we’ll continue down the list until the winner is identified.
